GARDEN TIPS DURING THE COOLER MONTHS
Don’t let the cooler weather deter you from doing what you love in the garden
- keeping your plants well looked after in winter is just as important as in the
warmer months. And even though it is cold outside, we love rugging up in our
winter warmers and working on the garden to nurture our mind and body.
Here’s what we recommend you get done during winter.
LET THE RAIN SOAK IN
After a hot summer, your soil can be dry for an extended period of time making
it water repellent. It’s important to look out for water pooling on the surface. This
can be easily solved with a good soil wetting agent or seaweed based additives.
We also recommend removing any heavy layers of leaves that can stop the rain
from getting to the soil.
GET RID OF THOSE WEEDS
With rain comes plenty of pesky weeds. Make sure you are removing any weeds
before they mature and set seed.
Ensure you are removing roots and all! We recommend using a garden hoe.
TIME FOR A CLEAN UP
Winter’s the perfect time to prune up what you already have existing in your
garden and buying new ones to put in your garden. Take the time to tidy up your
veggie garden or prune for structure on your plants.
